Capitalism has turned us into merchandise, buying our labour and transforming our existence into a life that only has value if one has an income, if one works. So when our labour is no longer required because profits can be made elsewhere or in some other way, they take it off us, thus taking value from our lives. Because they know that if we are no longer human merchandise, we are no longer worth anything.

I'm an 24 year old woman who works in various aspects of biomedical research, and is currently a grad student in Medical Anthropology & Public Health. I'm from Lansing, MI & currently live in Cleveland, OH. This is just a collection of things I think are neat.
A general overview of 'things I think are neat':abandonment/the post-industrial midwest, anarchism (syndicalism, insurrectionalism, etc), race/ethnicity (esp. defining/constructing the boundaries of whiteness), gender, class (talking/thinking about class generally seems to be an underrated activity), health care (access to, the experience of obtaining, etc), art, science fiction, punk music, conservative talk radio and anthropology (which probably incorporates almost everything else about people).
