Cats are free to good homes today and Saturday at the Cleveland APL; 560 cats and kittens need homes

The Cleveland Animal Protective League’s shelter is full of cats and kittens, so the nonprofit group is offering cats for free.
There will be no adoption fee Friday and Saturday at 1729 Willey Ave. in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. And cats and kittens not yet a year old can be adopted for $10. Get a second cat or kitten for $20.
“This issue is so critical, we are willing to do something drastic to raise awareness,” director Sharon Harvey said, “and this is pretty drastic as it costs us an average of $200 to care for a cat at the APL, and we bring in hundreds each week.”

This is just a collection of things I think are neat.

A general overview of 'things I think are neat':abandonment/the post-industrial midwest, anarchism (syndicalism, insurrectionalism, etc), race/ethnicity (esp. defining/constructing the boundaries of whiteness), gender, class (talking/thinking about class generally seems to be an underrated activity), health care (access to, the experience of obtaining, etc), art, science fiction, punk music, conservative talk radio and anthropology (which probably incorporates almost everything else about people).
