I was hoping this was going to be about C.R.A.C.K. but I guess we are still pushing forward on this great and totally non racist/misogynist/classist/otherwise discriminatory plan.
Also, Plan B is ‘the abortion pill’ but sterilization is just ‘permanent birth control’? Nice word choice.
Now, finally, the anarchists are free to be themselves. But freedom is a frightening, uncertain prospect, whereas the old ways, the leftist cliches and rituals, are as comfortable as a pair of old shoes (including wooden shoes). What’s more, since the left is no longer any kind of threat, anarcho-leftists are in no danger of state repression when they remember and reenact their ancient, mythic glories. That’s about as revolutionary as smoking hash, and the state tolerates both for the same reason.

Their world is younger than crack and therefore have no knowledge of a world where the above catastrophes don’t exist. To them, these realities are normal.

…Now, there are exceptions …But few adolescents are there yet, with the exception of nicotine. Of course, it’s important that they not get there, and we need to learn to recognize and deal with the real problems of adolescence effectively. But if we define the problem as the drug, we’re missing the point.
