Winter Solstice**SEASONAL** A deep amber, full bodied ale, brewed with four different malts, Cascade hops and just enough orange peel and cinnamon to be Impishly delicious. This seasonal beer will be available through the winter months.
Cleveland wins at winter and at making winter beers. This is delicious.

In Michigan it seemed like Oberon got bought up really fast pretty much every summer (in a manner similar to how GLBC Christmas Ale disappears in Cleveland) so I thought it was pretty funny to see that a store in Lakewood (Ryan & I were exploring beer selection on our new side of town this weekend) is having to discount it in November to get it sold and still having it in March.
But, you know, Oberon (and Bells, whatev this prob makes me a bad Michigander. Arcadia is where my favorite Michigan beer comes from) is pretty overrated so I cannot really fault the good people of NEO for not drinking it.

Kind of sad that the season for my favorite kind of beers is almost over (although it is supremely stupid of me to assume that the Cleveland winter does not have the potential to drag on much, much longer). That is the only thing that I will miss about winter. Cannot wait for 80o+ days.

New favorite $5.99 six pack of Winter Warmers!
The amount of money i spend on beer goes up significantly in the cold months. Once the winter ales are off the shelves it is back to High Life and PBR, basically.

Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales - Our Family of Beers Noel de Calabaza - Deep mahogany and malty, layered hops, figs, raisins, sugar plums, cashews betwixt rum laden truffles.
Tried this last night. Delicious in a really peculiar wine-y way. Would like more.

Brooklyn Brewery Winter Ale
Most recent Winter Ale tried. I am not sure why I even bother mentioning that they are all delicious. I love winter ales tons. I am crazy for all that malt.

This could be the most popular industrial action ever. While on the topic of new low country winter seasonals, New Holland’s Cabin Fever is also delicious
Winter is by far my favorite season for beer

The Genesee is pretty decent, albeit a little fruity for my tastes, but really not bad for $0.50 a can.
I mean, its no high life.
I have now moved on to trouncing Ryan in Wii bowling. I come from a family that is bizarrely into bowling so my victory is to be expected.

While slightly buzzed off the dogfish head from lunch, i paid $2.99 for a six pack of 16 oz cans of this at the grocery store. We will see how this turns out, because i hear tell that the cream ale is pretty disgusting.
