why do we pretend that our approval is upon what they depend?
in these situations, there is only so much futility a person can take before their rage can get the best of them and a burning cop car or a smashed bank window starts to look pretty appealing. yes, these are futile acts, but what do we expect people to do when they are treated like shit and the justice system does nothing to intervene on their behalf?
sure, ideally we could all rise above it and aim for a perfect, superhuman state of restraint. sure. and yes, ideally i too would prefer the demonstrations were strictly peaceful (for strategic reasons mainly) and that other, more polarizing means of demonstration and protest and disruption occurred outside of these public gatherings (where they would be more effective).

When I first discovered Propagandhi when I was in 8th grade it was like a punch in the stomach. I was just starting to get into punk and as silly as it sounds, they were one of the bands that started to radicalize me and turn me onto a lot of punk ideology.
I could have said the same thing about myself. Except, you know, I would never refer to my feelings about/history with propagandhi as silly. shit is real. Propagandhi can be held about entirely responsible for my vegetarianism and eventual veganism, my anarchism, me eventually giving metal a chance, and probably also my eventual love of crust/anarchopunk/etc (bc they are obv a gateway drug).

A general overview of 'things I think are neat':abandonment/the post-industrial midwest, anarchism (syndicalism, insurrectionalism, etc), race/ethnicity (esp. defining/constructing the boundaries of whiteness), gender, class (talking/thinking about class generally seems to be an underrated activity), health care (access to, the experience of obtaining, etc), art, science fiction, punk music, conservative talk radio and anthropology (which probably incorporates almost everything else about people).
