“Childhood” by Dark Side of The Cop
Dark Side of the Cop narrates the story of a badge from Detroit, lovesick and lonely, and follows him to Los Angeles in search of his childhood love. Originally conceived as an alternate soundtrack to the 80’s classic Beverly Hills Cop, Dark Side evolved out of ‘one of the greatest origin-gimmicks ever’ into a shimming synth-pop masterpiece backed by an electronic orchestra that would make Brian Wilson smile.
I'm an 24 year old woman who works in various aspects of biomedical research, and is currently a grad student in Medical Anthropology & Public Health. I'm from Lansing, MI & currently live in Cleveland, OH. This is just a collection of things I think are neat.
A general overview of 'things I think are neat':abandonment/the post-industrial midwest, anarchism (syndicalism, insurrectionalism, etc), race/ethnicity (esp. defining/constructing the boundaries of whiteness), gender, class (talking/thinking about class generally seems to be an underrated activity), health care (access to, the experience of obtaining, etc), art, science fiction, punk music, conservative talk radio and anthropology (which probably incorporates almost everything else about people).
