Who ACTUALLY uses dental dams?

Okay, dental dams. Anyone … actually use them?
I mean, I’m a lesbian, and I hear all the time that lesbians “should have safe sex, too,” and dental dams are usually prescribed for use during oral sex. I have never used one. No one I know has ever used one when it’s come up. I am now in a committed relationship with someone whose sexual history I know, so we don’t use them. Um, who uses them? Like, maybe they get a lot of use in rimming? Someone help a lady out here. Not literally.

I’m curious about this myself. I feel like I am in a strange age bracket though where (in comparison to people i know that are just a couple years older) a lot of my peers don’t really spend a lot of time worried about STIs (the causes for which i have some poorly elaborated personal theories about). This may or may not be related to the fact the I don’t know anyone who has ever told me they use these.

This is just a collection of things I think are neat.

A general overview of 'things I think are neat':abandonment/the post-industrial midwest, anarchism (syndicalism, insurrectionalism, etc), race/ethnicity (esp. defining/constructing the boundaries of whiteness), gender, class (talking/thinking about class generally seems to be an underrated activity), health care (access to, the experience of obtaining, etc), art, science fiction, punk music, conservative talk radio and anthropology (which probably incorporates almost everything else about people).
